Amelia Crowshoe joined Code Hunter as an associate in 2026.
Background
Since being called to the bar in Alberta in 2021, Amelia has advised clients on governance matters, legislative development, and regulatory compliance. She brings a disciplined, solutions-oriented approach to complex legal issues and is particularly attuned to the broader political and cultural context in which those issues arise.
Amelia also contributes to legal education as a guest lecturer at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, where she speaks on topics relating to Internet Law and Aboriginal Law. She brings a practical, real-world perspective to her work, shaped by both her legal training and her ongoing involvement in community leadership.
From the Piikani Nation, Amelia holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Culture from the University of Calgary. She is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Community Service
Amelia remains deeply engaged in community leadership and cultural initiatives. She serves as the Vice-Chair of the Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess as well as an Elder for the University of Calgary’s Centre for Innovation Family Justice Circle.
Recently Amelia was appointed as Vice-President of the Stoodis Indigenous Music Festival board.
