Alex McKay joined Code Hunter as a summer student in 2018, and as an articling student in 2020. Alex was called to the Alberta bar in 2021.
Background
Ms. McKay’s practical experience includes assisting in administrative law, employment law and negligence claims, as well as general civil litigation experience.
At the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, her studies included a focus on family law, wills & estates and human rights law. She achieved Dean’s List standing, and received several scholarships and awards including the Alan D. Hunter Award in Evidence Law.
Community Service
While at the University of Calgary, Ms. McKay was an active member of Pro Bono Students Canada’s Consent Project and Student Legal Assistance and worked as a teaching assistant for the Faculty of Law’s first year class. She is also an enthusiastic volunteer with the Calgary International Film Festival, with which she has volunteered since 2015.
