Ms. Butcher joined Code Hunter in 2017 after practicing with esteemed litigation boutiques in Calgary. She has a broad range of experience acting for individual and corporate clients. Ms. Butcher has appeared before all levels of Court in Alberta, as well as the Federal Court of Canada, administrative tribunals and the Alberta Securities Commission.

Background

Ms. Butcher received her LL.B. from the University of Calgary and was awarded the Centennial Prize for Advanced Civil Procedure in her graduating year. During law school, she was a research student in water law, looking specifically at water issues in the oilsands and Alberta’s water use in the context of water regimes elsewhere. Ms. Butcher also worked as a finishing carpenter.

Since joining the profession, Ms. Butcher has practiced in a wide range of areas and on a variety of matters, from complex multi-party litigation to dispute resolution to advising clients on litigation prevention. She takes a seasoned and practical approach to the practice of law.
