Christian J. Popowich

Christian Popowich is a graduate of the University of Calgary Law School, class of 1989. Kip was called to the Alberta Bar in 1990, upon completion of articles at Code Hunter.

Mr. Popowich represents clients in trial and appeal courts, and before regulatory boards and tribunals. He provides counsel on matters of civil and quasi-criminal liability, including fraud, foreign corrupt practices, and securities issues.

Mr. Popowich is experienced in the resolution of corporate and commercial disputes and in tort cases, in particular product liability. Insurance law is another area of practice for Mr. Popowich, including coverage and subrogation.

Clients represented by Mr. Popowich include oil and gas companies, both large and small, as well as parties in other resource industries, and individuals needing counsel. He acts for plaintiffs and defendants.

Mr. Popowich is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Federation of Defence and Corporate Counsel, the Canadian Bar Association and the Calgary Bar Association. He is a former sessional instructor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law and advisor to the University’s Venture Development Clinic at the Faculty of Management, as well as an instructor of the Law Society’s Bar Admission Course.
