Chad Babiuk attended the University of Calgary for undergraduate and graduate studies before earning his Bachelor of Laws in 2005. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 2006.
Mr. Babiuk practices civil advocacy and dispute resolution involving both private and public law litigation. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, the Supreme Court of British Columbia and various administrative tribunals in energy and development matters.
His experience engages all aspects of corporate and commercial litigation, including oppression and derivative claims under the Business Corporations Act, natural resources and other commercial contract disputes.
Mr. Babiuk also provides counsel in tort and negligence claims, including product liability and insurance subrogation, in municipal development and other public law litigation, and in defence of criminal charges under the Income Tax Act.
Mr. Babiuk sits on the Board of Directors of Student Legal Assistance (SLA) and volunteers as advising lawyer at SLA’s pro-bono legal clinics at the University of Calgary and Calgary Drop-In Centre. He is a member of the Canadian and Calgary Bar Associations, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and the Law Society of Alberta.
